Long Course
17 km
A couple of short but tough climbs, mostly on open grassy areas, faster running on MTB and horse tracks. Probably our least technical venue, but if you are fit and climb well you will be quick here. Pacing yourself on those early climbs will are critical to enjoying the second half.
1:45 to 2:45 hours
Course runs anti-clockwise. If you are fit and climb hills well you will be quick on this course. It is probably our least technical venue but be careful on the open field areas. Irregular footing can be concealed by the grass. Start at HQ at run for 1km on gravel road and open field to spread you out. Into a forested area and then slow elevation gain up an eerily quiet valley. Easy open running at this point. Climb Misery Hill, bring your sense of humour. Once at the top look around and take in the view, turn left and come down through open grasslands, watch your ankles if you are running fast.Take a right and connect with an easy MTB climbing track up to the Kapiti MTB Club Downhill Track. Left onto the Trampers Track, do some swearing and waving of fists as you climb back up to Campbill’s Mill Road. Turn left, on the homeward stretch now. Down the Bridal Path and back home via a Bush Track with well-formed trails.

Medium Course
12 km
One solid climb in the middle, but the rest is easier, faster running on MTB and horse tracks. Probably our least technical venue, this is a great course to try if you are thinking of stepping up from Short to Medium Courses.

Short Course

This is a great novice Short Course, with one gentle climb to give you some great views out over the farm and Kapiti Island, followed by an easy return via horse tracks and a beautiful bush track to finish. You’ll get your feet wet, but it’s worth it.
